We are delighted to host an afternoon for Westminster Working Cultures UK (WWCUK).
The host for the afternoon will be Guy Hudson, Head of Group Marketing and Communications at Stonehage Fleming.
Natalie Campbell, one of our panel of Judges for Stonehage Fleming XV, and is the Chancellor of the University of Westminster. One of Natalie’s first initiatives was to establish the Chancellor’s Circle - a collection of businesses and associations, often with a presence in proximity to Westminster, which have agreed to provide practical support through mentoring, internships and work experience to students of the University and as a result Stonehage Fleming is one of the 12 Founding Members of the Chancellor’s Circle.
This is important demonstration of our social capital, of our support for the Next Generation and our local community in London, and for an academic institution which prides itself on its diversity and inclusivity. Amongst other impressive credentials, 51% of Westminster students are the first generation in their families to go to University and 64% of undergraduates are from BAME backgrounds.
Westminster Working Cultures (WWC) launched its international pathway in September 2017, followed by the WWC UK pathway in 2020. Both programmes have supported 1000+ students across the 8 years through 51week-long programmes.
WWC is focused on enhancing the skills, experience, and confidence of our undergraduate students by connecting them with Westminster graduates and partners to hear about their professional experience and showing them the opportunities available to them in the UK and internationally. The programme is focused on empowering current students who have faced significant barriers to their employability goals, so all our participants meet specific Widening Participation criteria, coming from disadvantaged or underrepresented backgrounds.
